Family office software for Switzerland
Updated: · Leutrim Miftaraj, FLIORE · Editorial standards · Deutsche Fassung
Short answer
A Swiss family office needs software that brings three things together: the family's structure (persons, companies, foundations, trusts), due diligence under the Anti-Money Laundering Act and the automatic exchange of information (AEOI/CRS). FLIORE covers all three in one system, stores the data in Switzerland and records every change in an audit trail.
What characterises Swiss family offices
Switzerland is an important location for cross-border wealth management. Typical are structures spanning several jurisdictions: a Swiss holding, a Liechtenstein foundation, a trust under common law, real estate in several countries. Anyone administering such structures must be able to trace the chain of control to the natural person – for each structure and across all of them.
Regulation adds to this. Since the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA), independent asset managers and trustees need a FINMA licence and are supervised by a supervisory organisation. A pure single family office managing the wealth of one family usually falls outside this regime – but the boundary must be checked case by case.
How FLIORE supports Swiss practice
- Mandates as persons, companies, foundations and trusts – linked, with look-through consolidation across all levels.
- Beneficial owners with roles (settlor, trustee, protector, beneficiaries, foundation board), shares, PEP flags, tax residences and identity data.
- Risk assessment by country (FATF status with date), industry, PEP status and the country links of all persons – the highest band applies.
- AEOI/CRS: classification, pre-check of missing data and a reporting file in Excel following the template.
- Invoicing of the family office's own clients with Swiss QR-bill, client portal and encrypted messaging.
Data stored in Switzerland
The database is located in the Zurich region. Many families and their banks expressly require that structure data does not leave the country. The revised Data Protection Act has applied since 1 September 2023 and requires, among other things, a record of processing activities and clear rules for processors – FLIORE provides the data processing agreement and the list of sub-processors.
Who FLIORE suits in Switzerland
Single family offices that want to keep their structures and documents in order; multi family offices and fiduciaries administering many mandates under different jurisdictions; and independent asset managers who need to document their due diligence in a verifiable way.

Frequently asked questions
Does a single family office in Switzerland need a FINMA licence?
Generally not, as long as it manages only the wealth of one family or of economically connected persons. Serving third parties can trigger a licensing requirement as an asset manager or trustee. The boundary should be checked legally.
Can FLIORE represent Liechtenstein foundations and trusts?
Yes. Mandates can be persons, companies, foundations or trusts and can be linked freely. Role, share and tax residence are recorded for each person; consolidation calculates through all levels.
In which currency does FLIORE report?
Every position keeps its original currency. Consolidation uses a freely selectable reporting currency, in Switzerland usually CHF.
Does FLIORE replace compliance responsibility?
No. FLIORE supports the decision with complete data, deadlines and an audit trail. The assessment remains with the responsible person.
